I’m a 90’s Kid

Basics play a major role in the world of styling. A simple piece can do wonders by pairing it with right accessories.

Everyone has at least one of these in their closet, or may be an entire stock of it. Yes! I am talking about a Plain Black Tee.

Just like a white tee, a black T-shirt is a mandatory staple in your wardrobe that you can pair with just about anything, literally anything. If you want to give a casual look, you can pair it up with high waist or ripped jeans or if you decide to wear it to the office, You can just add a formal midi pencil skirt and throw on a blazer over it.

The next three blog posts are on how to style your Basic black tshirt in three different ways. Enjoy !

The Dungarees Dress

The first thing that strikes in your memory when you think about dungarees is the 90’s trend. Yes, I am a 90’s kid when dungarees would mostly be loose and slouchy.

Following the 90’s old school fashion, it’s time to buckle up and endorse denim dressing.

For all those who love staying on top of the latest trends, you’ll know that denim overalls are so much in vogue this season. Overalls seem to make the fashion come back after every few years.

If dungarees are not your style or if you want a change then you can opt for a dungaree dress instead.

In this look, I picked up a denim dungaree dress to go with the black crop top. They are super versatile and really a great basic piece too. Just to add a little shape, I tied a knot to the front of the top. A Jewellery trend that is still going on strong is a layering of neck pieces. Layered necklaces range from a single necklace with connected multiple strands to layering separate pieces together. Simple and small necklaces can make a big statement when layered together.

While layering, You must follow some simple tricks

  1. Layer separate neck pieces of different lengths so that the chains don’t tangle while you wear them.
  2. If the neck piece is making a bold statement, make sure you go for minimal earrings or no earring at all. Do not overdo your accessories.

While selecting the accessories, I decided to do layering of the neck pieces which were gold and pop coloured. The colour pop gives a fun and relaxed vibe. The neck piece looks bold and colourful and so I decided to go with no earrings at all.

For a sporty look, I paired multicoloured floral sneakers with the dress. Add sneakers to any outfit without worrying whether they go with the outfit or not. The trend is that people are wearing them with everything, even with lehengas lately. My personal favourite way to style sneakers is with something flowy like a skirt or a dress.

I carried a peach sling bag which goes perfectly with the accessories and this completes my look.
